How to Download
This Website
DOWNLOAD A ZIPPED COPY OF THIS WEBSITE AND USE IT OFF-LINE.
For convenience, I have set up a compressed copy of this entire website, which you can download. You can then store the files in a directory on your computer and view or print them without being on-line.
STEPS:
- Create a directory. I'll use a directory named SPIRIT on a DOS C:\ drive as an example
- Click here to download the file: DOWNLOAD NOW Save the file in the C:\SPIRIT directory as SPIRIT.ZIP
- Using PKUNZIP, WINZIP, or a similar utility, uncompress the file SPIRIT.ZIP
- Using OPEN FILE on your browser to open the file C:\SPIRIT\INDEX.HTM
The home page counter and related 'courtesy of' message have been removed from the downloaded version.
CHANGING THE BACKGROUND
Personally, I don't like the water background - I find it too bright. It also might interfere with printing. If you rename the file back.gif to something else, the background will be light gray. Alternatively, you can substitute another background picture by naming another JPEG-format file back.gif.
If you want to print a file and the light gray causes a problem, edit the HTML code as follows:
- Load the file into an ASCII text editor such as NOTEPAD
- About 11 lines down from the top is a line that begins with <BODY
- In that line, change the word "silver" to "white"
- Save the file.
