MESSIANIC PROPHECIES FULFILLED BY JESUS

What is a prophecy?
Isn't 'fulfilled prophecy' just a guess or luck or coincidence?
Does the Old Testament contain any prophecies about the Messiah?
God would come to Earth
Be born as a human male
Born of a virgin
From the house of Judah
From the root and stump of Jesse
From the house of David
Born in Bethlehem Ephrathah
Be from Nazareth of Galilee
His birth would trigger a massacre of infant boys
He would come out of Egypt
His mission would include the Gentiles
His ministry would include miraculous healings
He would deliver spiritual captives
Despised and rejected by men
Hated without cause
Rejected by rulers
Rejected by his own brothers
Betrayed for 30 pieces of silver
Silver returned
Silver used to buy potter's field
Disciples would scatter

MORE MESSIANIC PROPHECIES FULFILLED BY JESUS

Beaten with a rod
Given gall and vinegar to drink
Hands and feet nailed
Crushed for our iniquities
Suffered for the sins of others
Pierced for our transgressions
No bones broken
Soldiers gamble for his clothes
Brutally killed
Assigned a grave with the wicked
Buried in a rich man's tomb
THE MESSIAH WOULD RETURN FROM THE DEAD
Familiar with suffering

The following are fulfillments of 'familiar with suffering'

-- He was 'run out of town' at several places.
-- People tried to stone Him.
-- Some Jewish leaders conspired to kill Him.
-- His own family thought He was crazy.
-- His brothers told Him to go to a festival, expecting He would be killed.
-- His disciples abandoned Him.
-- He was crucified.

(End of specific prophecies)

Aren't you taking a bunch of things out of context?
Aren't these really mainly self-fulfilling prophecies?
Aren't Christians twisting the interpretation of the Old Testament to fit reach a pre-determined result?
Weren't a lot of alleged Messianic prophecies actually describing events at the time the 'prophet' spoke?
